Professor Toyoko Imae received a Bachelor's Degree from Nara Women's University, Japan, and a Doctorate of Science from Nagoya University, Japan. She joined Osaka University, Nagoya University, and then Keio University in Japan. Currently, she is a chair professor of Graduate Institute of Applied Science and Technology and a joint professor of Department of Chemical Engineering, National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan, since April, 2009. She is also a professor emeritus at Nagoya University since 2006. She is mainly involved in the research fields of nanomaterials, including polymers, carbon materials, nanoparticles, inorganic materials, molecular assemblies, hybrids and composites. She also contributes to the political activity as an executive member of Council for Science and Technology Policy in Japan and a member of Science Council of Japan.
